Schultz signs one-year deal

Defenseman Jeff Schultz signed a one-year, $715,000 contract to stay with the Washington Capitals.
The 23-year-old Schultz has played the past three seasons with the Capitals. He had one goal and 12 assists in 64 games last season, when Washington won its second consecutive Southeast Division title.
